Another Xmas gift, about 6 x 6 I think. Im going to paint lots of these for next year. I am going to take them to a Christmas House, in.....HAWAII!

this is a little acrylic. I did a few for xmas gifts, this is one of them, I like the looseness.

I did this little water color. the other month... I have been busy, sorry and lazy and playing farmville which Im going to delete! Its stupid and time consuming and and I should be painting, and ? I don't have another and. But you get the point.

Well here is the mermaid, Im not sure Im done with her, I think the values are a little close together, so I may work on the maid to give her a little more definition. I like the sea weed though, I pushed it and the dolphin back with a blue glaze.

Hello, is anyone there? Its been a strange couple of weeks. Ever have one of those times in your life. For me it is now. I have worked on the mermaid some and will take a pic. of it and post soon. I wish I was in a tropic setting drinking an umbrella laden cocktail, but as I am here in L.G. I will cope with a Crow and 7. Hopping you are all copping with life and the economy see you when I see you. In parting... my favorite saying... ART IS THE SEX OF IMAGINATION. Wishing I had a plethora of Sex.... ha

OK, this is a composite of 4 different sources Im not sure if the dolphin is working but Im going to paint it and see. Im going to change her chin a little, maybe the hand too. So stay tuned and we will see how it goes.

Ok, I'm home from Maui :( I had a great time with my friends and the wedding was beautiful. I happened to get a little painting in on the Lanai. terrible place to paint, no inspiration at all. I started a new sketch book. A Moleskin. I like it, I glued some pic on ft. (so I know where ft. is)I sketched on my bday trip. It really is beautiful up in the mts. I was amused by the bird house boot. I used a brown ink prismacolor pen, and found a little stick to attach to the ribbon page holder of my sketch book. A little piece of the mnt. and some aspen leaves.

camping birthday

Ok, be careful what you ask for! I asked to go camping for my birthday. I wasn't specific. I think this is were I went wrong (or in not planning it myself)! We went up to Hope Valley and camped just down the road from our friends friends cabin (THANK GOD). Dave and the dog, Cruz who is 10, took a hike up a mnt. then went swimming in a cold stream, the dog not Dave. So the OLD, Arthritic, dog was cold. We set up our campsite and went to bed. It was 27 that night.... freezing is warmer!!! Dave and I were snugly and warm but the dog. NOT SO MUCH. I thought he was frozen, well he made really pathetic noises and I kept trying to cover him up. Long story short I put him in the sleeping bags with us. Me spooning the dog, Dave spooning me, and my air mattress went flat, slow leak. Lots of rocks. Now I have two bodies next to me and no room to move, and I had to pee. Oh did I mention the bears. NOT that we saw any but there were warnings and the shadows on the rocks from the flashlight at ohdarkthirth, well they look like bears. THEY DO. The next night at the cabin, nice and warm, went out gambling, left the dog with the grandpa and kid, forgot to tell them to let him out before they went to bed. Came home to nice NEWLY remodeled and carpeted cabin and stepped in doggie dodo. Fun I had FUN camping. So on the way home I wanted to sketch (I'll post those later) some more but Dave gets in the car and wont stop. the photo from the car was kind of the scene I thought would make a great painting. WE WILL NEVWR KNOW. So that was my weekend.

Arts in the Garden We had a beautiful day and lovely people. Hope you enjoy the slide show. I was too busy to take more photos "during" the show, but you can get an idea of all of it. Thanks to everyone who came and to all my other artists.

Ok I rehung all of my paintings old and new, I framed, matted and cleaned. (for the last 3 weeks!) Im ready as I'll ever be, but its 11:30 pm and I had to get out of bed to do some last things?! Im obsessed I think. 17 artist are coming to show there work around the garden. I will take lots of pics and show everyone. Come and see us if you can and wish us luck.

I have been working in the garden and the studio, hopefully to everyones delight:) I have 15 or 16 ? hmm, artist coming to set up in the roses. Im so looking forward to seeing all of there work and sharing the day. Hope you will come and see us too.

OK... I have committed to having an OPEN STUDIO event at my house/studio. It will have me and other artist and craft persons... "ARTS IN THE GARDEN"

Had jury duty last week, only had to hang out for a few hours. It was like a life drawing class of really sleepy people!. Had 40+ people for Easter, food was good, everyone had a good time. ITS OVER. Oh did I say that out loud.... ha Have a great Mon and Tue...over and out

OMG... Today was golf day and I broke 100!!! I shot a 98. 

I won my flight, got low net, got 2 birdies and won closest to the hole. 

Ok, Just had to put that down for posterity! Had a great day and made killer enchiladas for dinner. It was a good day..... 

this sketch I did at a party sunday of Lisa, who was sitting across from me. I have been reading An Illustrated life, and It has given me some ideas and motivations. 

These are 2 panels, in acrylic Im working on, I like masks, I keep painting these faces Im trying to think of some words to go with them?? Neither of them is done, the blue background face is a little too real, cute? Im  giving it some gel time. 

Here is the finished painting. Im going to try this one again, I think the greens are too...bla, and I really wanted to have it more abstract, with more line quality. This is something I get in acrylics but it is hard to translate in watercolor, but Im going to keep at it. I think if I add some guash. Stay tooned for more

Im starting a new painting on hot press paper. Im not sure I like it its a little "light" and is buckling up a bit, but I will press on. here is my start and the photo's Im working from.

Oakland Zoo

Monday is a good day to go to the Zoo. Except for the rain in the am. it was a great day. I drew a bit, but my niece liked to keep a brisk pace! It felt like an extended weekend, lunch with my cuz's, planting in the yard, dinner with my kids and the Zoo. Tonight is the last w/c class for 3 weeks so Im going to get busy on my last presentation. So.... off to the studio.

Ok I have been a little busy, I dropped my IPhone in the gutter while a river ran through it. For about 15 min. then I tried to turn it on.... toast. So I got the new G3. My parents came to dinner, everything went ok. MY FRIENDS mom passed away, I got busy with taking care of some things for her. I taught, weeded, got a new fountain bowl, cleaned the studio, made a couple of collages,  went to lunch, breakfast, lunch and dinner, not exactly in that order but... I also vacuumed. Life has been busy and I have had to wear many masks... so for your enjoyment here are some masks.

Today was golf day!

I shot 106, not bad for me, I really golf better than I score. 

I had to run home to fix dinner for my parents and godfather. Im keeping a positive attitude.

Another rainy day, but Im ok with it. Friday I drove with my parents and a couple of their friend up the coast, to have lunch at Half Moon Bay Brewery. Beautiful drive, except the part where I almost got us killed. Well...... not really but... 

I pulled over from the left hand lane to stop and take a picture of the muster fields for my dad. 

2 lane, one big semi, 200ft. 

NOT TOO SMART.     OH WELL.

YEAAA Beautiful beautiful day today. Bonus I golfed after 4 weeks of no golf, I didn't golf well, but I did have a 1 put from 27'. plink, I was very elated. I am including a picture I did of Dave on the golf course, its a little 5X7 (ish) watercolor. Enjoy the day... I am.

Today is mostly sunny and I ordered tomatoes and a rose for my garden. Im hoping the sun will dry out the golf course because its my golf day thursday. I pulled some weeds this morning and they came right out. I guess the rain is good for a few things. I drew this on a beautiful day in Santa Cruz it was just before all the rain so I shouldn't complain about the rain. I had a great day in the sun that day. Got some fun little sketches and walked 2 miles up west cliff dr. with Cruz.

Ok. I worked for an hour trying to up load some pics from my sketchbook. OBVIOUSLY it didn't work. So this is our XMas pic. Nice hu... I call it Okie2. Im not so good with the computer, Im pretty sure I was abducted as a child & some alien metal was put in my head,  because anything like a radio or computer doesn't work for me. I AM NOT INEPT. Ok, just a little insecurity, Im ok now.I spent money today at Costco to grease our economy. I did my part! We went and saw a movie the other day, good, Dave and I both liked it, "Push". Had had a nice lunch at DD's today with family, and now for the weather. ITS STILL RAINING> ok thats all for now.

rain, rain

Rain. It has been DUMPING for over 36 hours. I forced Cruz to go out to do his thing, he doesn't like to get his toes wet. Sensey! Poor puppy. Im going to work out and maybe go to see the Movie 'Push" ? We'll see.

Maybe I should paint... hhhmmmm artist, studio... ? Why isn't that working for me?? PROCRASTINATION, I am the world expert. Ok here is another painting from my arcives... This is a color pencil I did to show kids how to make a black gorilla without using too much black... this guy looks about how I feel with being inside with all this rain. blaaa
