I am creating and teaching a new class.

It is called Visual Journaling.

It will be taught in the fall at Los Gatos Recreation, I am talking to the JCC about organizing a class for them and of course I teach at my home studio.

This class will incorporate multiple techniques that could be used in your Visual Journal. You can incorporate this into travel, group activities, creative cook book, Art, personal journaling, class notes, or meetings, vision boarding, writing brain storming, project planning or any special projects we can come up with.

I look forward to seeing all the creative things my artist come up with, come and join.

This is from my daily drawing book I get some paint on them, lots of days its just doodles.

But these are my students paintings, which I have a "HEAVY" hand in. If I can come up with ideas, draw them and chose the paint and brushes, why am I not painting for myself.??
I have a theory. I think my creative juices get used up. Or Im just lazy... which is probably the right answer. Hope this wave turns out for the kid. : ) Hang 10 Dude.

I have also been doing a drawing a day in my new sketch book I got for xmas. Im still working in my other sketch book too, trying to finish the last few pages to I can crack open my new Moleskin drawing book. You can never sketch enough.. this is like painting 26 ok 25 individual paintings plus the boarder. It is fun, but very time consuming. I have made a dozen of these and each one is different, even if I choose the same image. The turtle and penguins are new for me.

OK... ready set go. Started up my "kids" art class Mon. 3 kids, 8th, 9th & 11th graders. It was a great first class, everyone was very involved and creative. Matt said it was too short. So good on me, I say.

The Rec. w/c class starts next week and my Wed. student is trying to come 2xs a week now. I have been thinking and drawing trying to come up with a drawing for an idea that has been perking in my head. Im still working on it... I am doodling in my sketch book and trying things I see other people on blog spot do.. its very inspiring, and something to think about, so thank you to all those inspiring artist... Ok thats it for now.. more soon.

OK... in the real word there are all kinds of people. I know this. Some are good some are A-HOLES. YES a bad word. I have been dealing with people who will not pay what they owe. People who cheat and lie... HOW THE F-ING-A am I suppose paint. It is a creative process. One that requires ... HAPPINESS or at the very least!!! some sort of control? I have tried to paint out anger... it just scared the shit out of me... It didn't release the annexed or the tension.. it just cause more. Sorry, some psychologist I don't know? but it didn't.... I need happiness or contentment to paint.. yes,,,, YES pretty pictures. Is that a crime. I like flowers and pretty pictures... its what makes me happy. I don't do DARK. Sue me.!

I have been doing a few little things, I drew the golfer for my golf teams invitational, and I got a new book I really like, its actually a game, but with all the dice I really just liked the pictures the artists came up with and was copying them trying to practice / emulate. He is a very talented guy, Chuck Lukace, and the book is "A creativity game for Fantasy Artists".. I really like the book its great. Check it out if you can find it...

Hakoni Gardens.. here is the finished acrylic I did for a wedding gift. The couple got married in almost the exact spot I stood to draw the painting, serendipitous! Hooray for me.

I think they turned out pretty good and hope the recipients like them also.. Finally, drawing again!! I have a wedding at Hakoni garden, and my gift is a painting, so I went over to do a little recon. I found a good angle/comp/lighting. and had a great time. So now I need to get to drawing... More to come.

OK, well.. I got a new hair cut. But haven't been painting or drawing. I have 4 things I need to paint before next month. and Im coughing and drinking liquids laying on the couch. I don't know if its allergies or a cold, but I have felt better. I always say I work better under pressure..well thats sure building up fast. Wish me luck or at the very least send a cattle prod! ha

Well, Easter at our house was huge. 50 relatives invaded.. opps came over for a pot luck / bbq. The rain and wind chased most of the people inside, and all was good. Lots of food and fun had by all. I got away from painting my "hawaii" paintings but I am going to get back on that horse hopefully tomorrow. Wish me luck. This was my last painting, I did finally put a varnish on it and called it good. Im thinking about doing another version of it with the clouds a bit more graded. Everyone has really liked this one (me too) So Im going to do another to see if I can improve on it.. My garden is looking great, I have plants coming up in good ol' spring fashion. It gets me so excited to see everything popping up out of the ground. I know some of it is probably weeds but Im hoping for flowers too. I'll keep you posted. Took my new sketch book to the Museum. They had plastic candied apples, cakes, donuts and easels with colored pencils and paper so anyone can draw. It was very fun. I have a couple of pages done on this new book and am going to work on it every day. (famous last words :)...

OK... it has been too long, I know... I am putting this up to inspire me to get on with it. I have been painting some ornaments for a xmas house in Hawaii for next year and have lots of ideas for some small paintings too. I am teaching and getting ready to do a demo for the Menlo Art league in Feb. and my LGrec. class on Tue, starting on the 19. I have also been working out at the gym and after a Dr. visit today have GAINED... yes???? GAINED 10lbs I did not need!! GDI. My friends say its muscle, Im going with that and if in the next 6 mo.s I don't loose weight, please keep all fire arms away from me, because that 26 studmuffin trainer may get something he didn't count on!! Making me suffer for what MORE WEIGHT! Ok ok,,, Im ok,... Im going to create more and draw more and be at one with the universe, and Believe.... So wish me luck. Happy New Year to anyone out there listening.

Well here is the mermaid, Im not sure Im done with her, I think the values are a little close together, so I may work on the maid to give her a little more definition. I like the sea weed though, I pushed it and the dolphin back with a blue glaze.

Hello, is anyone there? Its been a strange couple of weeks. Ever have one of those times in your life. For me it is now. I have worked on the mermaid some and will take a pic. of it and post soon. I wish I was in a tropic setting drinking an umbrella laden cocktail, but as I am here in L.G. I will cope with a Crow and 7. I started a new sketch book. A Moleskin. I like it, I glued some pic on ft. (so I know where ft. is)I sketched on my bday trip. It really is beautiful up in the mts. I was amused by the bird house boot. I used a brown ink prismacolor pen, and found a little stick to attach to the ribbon page holder of my sketch book. A little piece of the mnt. and some aspen leaves.

Ok, be careful what you ask for! I asked to go camping for my birthday. I wasn't specific. I think this is were I went wrong (or in not planning it myself)! We went up to Hope Valley and camped just down the road from our friends friends cabin (THANK GOD). Dave and the dog, Cruz who is 10, took a hike up a mnt. then went swimming in a cold stream, the dog not Dave. So the OLD, Arthritic, dog was cold. We set up our campsite and went to bed. It was 27 that night.... freezing is warmer!!! Dave and I were snugly and warm but the dog. NOT SO MUCH. I thought he was frozen, well he made really pathetic noises and I kept trying to cover him up. Long story short I put him in the sleeping bags with us. Me spooning the dog, Dave spooning me, and my air mattress went flat, slow leak. Lots of rocks. Now I have two bodies next to me and no room to move, and I had to pee. Oh did I mention the bears. NOT that we saw any but there were warnings and the shadows on the rocks from the flashlight at ohdarkthirth, well they look like bears. THEY DO. The next night at the cabin, nice and warm, went out gambling, left the dog with the grandpa and kid, forgot to tell them to let him out before they went to bed. Came home to nice NEWLY remodeled and carpeted cabin and stepped in doggie dodo. Fun I had FUN camping. So on the way home I wanted to sketch (I'll post those later) some more but Dave gets in the car and wont stop. the photo from the car was kind of the scene I thought would make a great painting. WE WILL NEVWR KNOW. So that was my weekend.

Ok I rehung all of my paintings old and new, I framed, matted and cleaned. (for the last 3 weeks!) Im ready as I'll ever be, but its 11:30 pm and I had to get out of bed to do some last things?! OMG... Today was golf day and I broke 100!!! I shot a 98.

I won my flight, got low net, got 2 birdies and won closest to the hole.

Here is the finished painting. Im going to try this one again, I think the greens are too...bla, and I really wanted to have it more abstract, with more line quality. This is something I get in acrylics but it is hard to translate in watercolor, but Im going to keep at it. I think if I add some guash. Stay tooned for more

Monday is a good day to go to the Zoo. Except for the rain in the am. it was a great day. I drew a bit, but my niece liked to keep a brisk pace! It felt like an extended weekend, lunch with my cuz's, planting in the yard, dinner with my kids and the Zoo. Tonight is the last w/c class for 3 weeks so Im going to get busy on my last presentation. So.... off to the studio.

Ok I have been a little busy, I dropped my IPhone in the gutter while a river ran through it. For about 15 min. then I tried to turn it on.... toast. So I got the new G3. My parents came to dinner, everything went ok. MY FRIENDS mom passed away, I got busy with taking care of some things for her. I taught, weeded, got a new fountain bowl, cleaned the studio, made a couple of collages, went to lunch, breakfast, lunch and dinner, not exactly in that order but... I also vacuumed. Life has been busy and I have had to wear many masks... so for your enjoyment here are some masks.

Another rainy day, but Im ok with it. Friday I drove with my parents and a couple of their friend up the coast, to have lunch at Half Moon Bay Brewery. Beautiful drive, except the part where I almost got us killed. Well...... not really but...

I pulled over from the left hand lane to stop and take a picture of the muster fields for my dad.

2 lane, one big semi, 200ft.

NOT TOO SMART. OH WELL.

Today is mostly sunny and I ordered tomatoes and a rose for my garden. Im hoping the sun will dry out the golf course because its my golf day thursday. I pulled some weeds this morning and they came right out. I guess the rain is good for a few things. I drew this on a beautiful day in Santa Cruz it was just before all the rain so I shouldn't complain about the rain. I had a great day in the sun that day. Got some fun little sketches and walked 2 miles up west cliff dr. with Cruz.

Ok. I worked for an hour trying to up load some pics from my sketchbook. OBVIOUSLY it didn't work. So this is our XMas pic. Nice hu... I call it Okie2. Im not so good with the computer, Im pretty sure I was abducted as a child & some alien metal was put in my head, because anything like a radio or computer doesn't work for me. I AM NOT INEPT. Ok, just a little insecurity, Im ok now.I spent money today at Costco to grease our economy. I did my part! We went and saw a movie the other day, good, Dave and I both liked it, "Push". Had had a nice lunch at DD's today with family, and now for the weather. ITS STILL RAINING> ok thats all for now.

Rain. It has been DUMPING for over 36 hours. I forced Cruz to go out to do his thing, he doesn't like to get his toes wet. Sensey! Poor puppy. Im going to work out and maybe go to see the Movie 'Push" ? We'll see.

Maybe I should paint... hhhmmmm artist, studio... ? Why isn't that working for me?? PROCRASTINATION, I am the world expert. Ok here is another painting from my arcives... This is a color pencil I did to show kids how to make a black gorilla without using too much black... this guy looks about how I feel with being inside with all this rain. blaaa
